Information Technology Security Conference Announced for October
Tools and Methods for Companies Seeking to Manage Risk
DAYTON, OHIO, September 11, 2008 Digital Controls Technology Services Group, which specializes their professional services in the IT security space, has announced that they are coordinating an October 17 IT Security Conference to be hosted at the Schuster Performing Arts Center in downtown Dayton.
"Although there are other regional security conferences, most of them are scheduled for the spring (March through May timeframe)" Mark Metzner, Facility Security Officer says. "With the beginning of a new school year and the advent of fall, we feel there's room in the Dayton market to launch a security conference in October - the time of year when folks are getting back in the swing of things, working on budgets for the 2009 fiscal year, and a jump on calendars filling up for the holiday season."
The half-day event will feature a slate of 7 available security focused sessions - 1 keynote presentation, 3 best practice sessions, and 3 security tools sessions. Each attendee will be provided a choice of two sessions - for a total of 4 sessions depending on their interest or needs. Additionally, the 4 sponsoring vendors will have booths on hand to speak in detail with invidual attendees in detail.
To address the area of security methodologies, Digital Controls will run 3 security methodologies or best practice sessions in contrast to the vendor breakouts.
The following agenda was released earlier today:
- Keynote: "In-the-Cloud" Security Technologies presented by Greg Stamper, Trend Micro Systems
- IT Security Metrics and Reporting presented by Mark Metzner, FSO, Digital Controls
