Information Security Services
Now, more than ever, information security is a primary concern for any organization to maintain daily operations. The number of security incidents appearing in the press, polled by Gartner, and reported by other media is escalating at exponential growth.
According to the July, 2008 issue of SC Magazine, there have been in excess of 227 million records involved in security breaches since 2005. That's nearly one incident for each person in the United States alone. Is it any wonder that 500 CIO's, when recently surveyed, responded about their organization's security as follows:
- 42% Do not consider their networks secure
- 32% Suffered a breach over the past 12 months
Many companies long ago adopted the "it won't happen here" mantra, others developed a policy - for which few enforce, and still fewer are those that have integrated a security policy as part of their corporate culture.
For most, it's not until you are directly involved in a security breach, or a breach strikes close to home - University of Dayton, LexisNexis, Antioch College - that we begin to take notice.
If you haven't experienced a breach - it's likely you will. Or, maybe you're just not aware that it's happened in your environment.
Digital Controls has an extensive background in delivering information security services and offerings that effectively lower the risk of your information technology resources - helping you to improve your security posture. In the last 5 years, we've helped organizations reduce vulnerabilities and average 60 to 70%.
- 135 of 200 (68%) networked systems were open to outside intrusion
- 68% of client workstations were susceptible to social networking
- 50 critical security patches missing from a server population
- Over half (50%) of a server population at exceptionally high risk
These are alarming numbers - yet evidence of the problem right here in our own business community.
